Compliance is not bureaucracy. It is what keeps a technical issue from becoming a legal issue — or stopping the operation at the worst moment.
Risks of non-compliance
- Immediate shutdown. MTE, Fire Department or Health Inspection enforcement can stop the operation without notice when a valid ART or technical report is missing.
- A fine greater than the project cost. Non-compliance penalties often cost more than the corrective work and create a record of recurrence.
- Personal liability for managers. In a serious accident, technical leads and operations managers may be held individually responsible in addition to the company.
